Create NSW have been a proud partner of Sydney Festival since 1977, celebrating and supporting stories each year that are bold and playful, powerful and diverse.

Create NSW has a vision to embed the arts in the everyday. A vision shared by festivals like Sydney Festival, where each January art, culture and music are showcased daily.

At Create NSW we are committed to growing and strengthening the arts, screen, music and cultural sector in NSW. We support the delivery of new, innovative and exciting arts and cultural events and experiences for the people of NSW.

Create NSW provide a range of opportunities aimed at empowering artists to develop and expand their practice. Through the funding of major festivals like Sydney Festival, homegrown musicians, artists, and performers from NSW can take centre stage, connecting with audiences in some of Sydney’s favourite spaces.

The Sydney Festival is a highlight on Sydney’s summer calendar and Create NSW is proud to provide ongoing support to the Festival as well as performers, events and spaces featured in the program. In 2024 we have supported a number of diverse performances and spaces, including the intersection of dance and inflatable sculpture at the Walsh Bay Arts Precinct with Sculptured Riddims, the world premiere of Force Majeure and Ilbijerri Theatre Company’s movement and spoken word piece Gurr Era Op, and Sydney Symphony Orchestra’s atmospheric Sydney Symphony Under the Stars.
