Darling Harbour

Placemaking NSW, supports the delivery of events and activations through its own events and partnered activities. They work with communities and brands to create exciting, engaging experiences. This is the essence of why they are proud to have partnered with Sydney Festival. What better way to celebrate summer in Sydney than to bring the fantastical artwork of the Cupid’s Koi Garden to life and to showcase the exclusive magic show with Maho Magic Bar.

Placemaking NSW, a branch within the Cities and Active Transport Division under Transport for NSW, focuses on the development and the responsible care, control, management and activation of the most important and popular harbourside precincts in Sydney. It performs a key role to enhance some of Sydney’s most treasured places and spaces and facilitates their evolution.

Placemaking NSW manages high profile precincts including Darling Harbour, The Rocks, Barangaroo and, Luna Park, Ballast Point Park, parks and waterfront boardwalks in Pyrmont and has also recently has begun important remediation and conservation works at White Bay Power Station in Rozelle.

These special places include more than 100 heritage buildings as well as unique venues such as the Chinese Garden of Friendship and major event facilities such as the International Convention Centre Sydney in Darling Harbour.
