Theatre
After a sellout first run, Sydney Theatre Company's stirring Julia is back for round two at the Sydney Opera House, with the unstoppable Justine Clarke. Back at the wharf, Sydney Theatre Company also tackles big themes with tiny creatures in Cicada, a touching theatrical adaptation of the award-winning picture book of the same name by Shaun Tan. Riverside Theatres hosts its own returning season this month, with the acclaimed black comedy, Guards at the Taj, and over at Griffin Theatre, compelling two-person thriller Golden Blood opens at the end of the month.
Music
Bewitching Icelandic Chinese artist Laufey is headed for the Opera House Concert Hall, while the smooth grooves of Hiatus Kyote fill the Enmore. It's a big month for Oxford Art Factory, with What So Not, Micra and Party Dozen (Sydney Festival 2023) all inbound for the Oxford Street digs. Have a dance with The Presets at The Barracks, head bang with Iron Maiden at Qudos Bank Arena or swoon with the king of croon, Don West at Low 302.
Seymour Centre hosts traditional Chinese music with Ghuizhou Charm, Richard Tognetti tackles Mendelssohn and Bach at the Sydney Opera House and the legendary James Morrison Quartet joins forces with acclaimed pianist Marian Petrescu at City Recital Hall.

The powerhouse of a voice that is Casey Donovan (Sydney Festival 2022) is headed for the cloisters in the Sister Act musical at Capitol Theatre. Sydney's exciting new venue White Bay Power Station hosts a free three day event with Power Up Festival. The streets are alive with the sound of music as City of Sydney reboots its awesome annual street parties, Sydney Streets, across inner city locations, for those who haven't made it yet the beautiful Alphonse Mucha exhibition is still kicking at the Art Gallery of NSW, and the multi-talented Michelle Brasier (Sydney Festival 2024) is launching her book at The Factory Theatre.
