The old Korean story goes like this: An underwater dragon king orders a search for a cure to his illness. He is approached by a curmudgeonly turtle, who promises to deliver him what he needs – a hare’s liver. The turtle travels to the forest, finds a hare, and tries to lure him back to the dragon king’s palace. But this hare is pretty smart. Will he make his escape and leave the turtle flummoxed?

Combining Czech puppetry, traditional Korean pansori storytelling (a UNESCO-recognised form dating back more than 400 years), live cello music and a wicked sense of humour, South Korea’s Moksung Theatre Company expands on already-beautiful heritage performance forms in truly wonderful ways.
