Brett Whiteley Studio 2 Raper Street Surry Hills NSW 2010
Born and raised in Cuba, masterful jazz pianist/composer Harold López-Nussa and his family recently relocated from Havana to Toulouse. The musician’s Blue Note debut, Timba a la Americana, is a vibrant album teeming with joy and pathos that was inspired by his new life in France.
Australian painter Brett Whiteley was also shaped by his time working in Paris and the many French artists he counted as company.
In López-Nussa’s intimate show in Brett Whiteley’s studio space and gallery, he’ll perform songs from his critically acclaimed album – and touch on how travel and his life in France moulded him as an artist.
