Riverside Theatres

back Back to Feasts

Home to Sydney Festival events for many years, Riverside Theatres is Western Sydney’s premier performing arts venue.

Riverside Theatres is the centrepiece of performance culture in Sydney’s central city, Parramatta, offering live experiences you can’t have at home. Well-established and highly respected, both by the local community and the national arts industry, Riverside is a successful cultural and community asset of the City of Parramatta Council.

Getting Here

Church Street is currently closed to general traffic between Market & Macquarie Streets, to allow for Parramatta Light Rail works. If driving, you may wish to allow extra time to reach the venue. Plan ahead by checking the LiveTraffic website here.

Parramatta is linked from all directions by train. Riverside is approximately a 12-minute walk from Parramatta Train Station.

Exit the station from Parramatta Square (exit 5), turn left towards Centenary Square and PHIVE. Turn right towards Church Street, and follow it up to the theatre, just across the Lennox Bridge.

Bus services are available to Parramatta from all directions: through Hills Bus, Sydney Buses and Hopkinsons. The nearest bus stops are on Wilde Ave/Smith St – a short walk away from the theatre.

Parramatta Wharf is an enjoyable 8 minute walk to Riverside along the Parramatta river.
